Opinion for transport allowance

The Commission provides an opinion on the transport allowance.

The opinion shall be given to a person from one year and six months of age who has had certain functional restrictions.

The opinion shall be delivered at the same time as the disability decision.

Opinion may also be requested following a disability decision. In such a case a new application must be submitted with a request for an opinion. Then a repeat expert-examination is performed.

The opinion gives the person the opportunity to receive social support.

In order to receive a transport allowance for a person, the State Social Insurance Agency should be referred to (SSIA).

In order to obtain a Disabled parking card, the Road Traffic Safety Directorate (RTSD) customer service centres should be contacted.

The special adaptation of the vehicle to the needs of people with mobility impairments is carried out by the State Agency for Social Integration (SASI)
